14 YEAR OLD "YOUNG GUN" NICKY WIMBAUER FROM COLORADO IS THE  MYSTERY SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP STUDENT FOR 2002.
THIS IS HIS STORY
My name is Nicky Wimbauer and I am a 14 year old from Colorado.  I was lucky enough to be chosen as the first "young gun" scholarship student to Rich Oliver's Mystery School.  I had anticipated these 5 days ever since Rich e-mailed me that I was the chosen one.  I already heard this school was very hard physically and right away, we began my hardest training ever at home.  I wanted to show Rich that he made the right choice and I knew this could be the first door opening to the answer of my dreams, to be a world GP racer and I better show my best.  This was my idea of a school!

I could not wait to get on the plane and get to California.  I watched the clock all day and thought waiting for the 2:40 bell to finally ring would take forever.  We left for the airport about 3:00 and rushed for the 2-hour flight that seemed like 5.  I thought I was going to die when they told us we might not be able to land in Fresno because of fog, but we made it.

1st Day- I ate my bowl of Raisin Bran and a banana in the motel breakfast where I met Marlon, another student.  He and I talked about how nervous we were about the unexpected.  We left the motel at about 7:30 and met Rich at the food mart closest to his house so he could show us the way to his house.  The road was twisty and it had big hills that you could catch air on but Connie, my step Mom, kept all four on the road.  Rich introduced us to Gary, gave us a tour of his very cool house, artwork and 6 different dirt tracks in his front yard.  Then we started off with a few stretches and two of the "Mystery workouts.  They were hard and Rich explained how they relate to road racing.  Then we rode a lot, getting the feel of his tracks while Rich checked out our skill levels and started working with each of us.  When the day was over I was about as sore as a mouse that ran for 20 miles and I fell right asleep.

2nd Day-
The second day was even harder.  I was just as excited to learn more because I was having so much fun while learning more about riding in general.  I was starting to like the feeling of pushing myself.  We did some fun things that I hadn't done and didn't understand until Rich explained how it all tied into your mind with road racing.  I learned to pace myself and push at the same time.

3rd Day-
More tough exercises but I was getting stronger and faster by the day.  It was great how Rich worked with us until we got what he was teaching.  He gave us riding drills that made us think about a lot of things while still racing as hard as we could.  It was so cool when it all finally clicked and sideways was not uncomfortable.  Later we talked with Sean Edin about nutrition and I learned my body fat % was pretty good and that my diet the past year had been going in the right direction.  I still could'nt wait for Thanksgiving and pumpkin pie!  I was glad I had that afternoon to rest a little.
RICH MOTIVATES US TO GIVE OUR MAXIMUM EFFORT!
RICH AND GARY CHASE ME AROUND THE TRACK TRYING TO  PUSH ME INTO A MISTAKE!
