      Welcome Information

      Welcome!

      We would like to welcome you to Rich Oliver’s Mystery School!   We are excited that you are able to join us and hope you will find the following information helpful.

      Please plan on meeting us in the gravel parking area on the left side of Thunderbird Street, past ACE Hardware and just before the Foothill Middle School campus entrance gate, located at 28971 Auberry Rd, Prather, CA 93651.  Look for the Mystery School “staging area” sign.  There are directions below for your reference. 

      Most of our courses begin at 9:00 a.m., however, there are some variances with the Kids Ride and Wrench Camps.  Please refer to your confirmation email from us for the meeting time for your class. All courses are conclude between 4:30 pm - 5:00 pm.

      For all our classes, Rich Oliver’s Mystery School provides a nutritious lunch, snacks, and plenty of water throughout.  If you have special meal needs, please let us know prior to your arrival.  Any guests are welcome to join us for lunch at the cost of $7.00 per person per day.  We ask that you reserve in advance and pay upon arrival.

      Preparation

      We strongly encourage you to do some light stretches and hydrate as you begin preparing for your course. 

      Flat track and off-road riding require the use of your thigh and hip muscles and if you stretch in advance of your camp, you will greatly benefit.  We will ride approximately five hours per day so plan on being a bit tired when you leave in the evening.

      To maximize your Mystery School experience, we strongly recommend that you arrive the evening prior to your course, eat a healthy dinner and get plenty of rest.

       The Auberry/Prather area offers a few restaurants to choose from.

      • The Mill - coffee.  Located in the Ace Hardware parking lot as you turn on Thunderbird Lane to drive to the ROMS staging area.  They are open every day and weekend hours are from 7 am - 12 pm.
      • Prather Perk - coffee and bakery.  Located at the roundabout in Prather on the northeast corner. Monday - Friday from 7:30 am - 5 pm; Saturday from 9 am - 5 pm; Sunday from 10 am - 4 pm.

      Friant

      Fresno/Clovis area

      Using CA-41 North

      • Exit at Friant Road and turn Right
      • Turn RIGHT on East Copper Ave.
      • Turn LEFT on Auberry Road (Fruit stand on corner)
      • Follow for ~20 miles until you come to PRATHER.
      • Just before Prather look for THUNDERBIRD Lane on your left at the ACE HARDWARE.
      • Turn left on Thunderbird, follow road into a dirt parking area on your left, (it will be the second driveway on your left), just before the main entrance to the Foothill Elementary School campus. 

      Using 168 East

      • Follow 168-East until you come to Prather.
      • Follow the roundabout to the Auberry Road exit by the gas stations in Prather.
      • Take Auberry Road to Thunderbird Lane, just past ACE HARDWARE on your right.
      • Turn right on Thunderbird, follow lane to dirt parking area on your left, (it will be the second driveway on your left), just before the main entrance to the Foothill Elementary School campus.

      From the Bay Area

      • US 101 S toward LOS ANGELES
      • Take exit #356/10TH ST for 0.3 mi
      • Turn LEFT on CA-152; go 0 mi
      • Continue on CA-99 S; go 1 mi
      • Take ramp toward MILLERTON LAKE/YOSEMITE; go 2 mi
      • Bear RIGHT on W CLEVELAND AVE; go 9 mi
      • Turn LEFT on CA-145 (76 gas station on corner); go 4 mi
      • Continue on ROAD 145; go 3 mi
      • Turn RIGHT on ROAD 206; go 1 mi
      • Continue on NORTH FORK RD; go 1 mi
      • Turn LEFT on MILLERTON RD (Shell gas station- town of Friant); go 7 mi
      • Turn LEFT on AUBERRY RD (Valero gas station); go 9 mi
      • Just before Prather look for THUNDERBIRD Lane on your left at the ACE HARDWARE.
      • Turn left on Thunderbird, follow road in to a dirt parking area on your left, (it will be the second driveway on your left), just before the main entrance to the Foothill Elementary School campus.
